VRayStudioTools

Joseph has made his VRayStudioTools available as a free download!

He says of his new development: “VRayStudioTools are set of light rigs & studio setups & tools in a c4d library that can help you to render your objects or products without having to worry about some complex light setups & render settings in vray or cinema 4d .”

He has also gone to the lengths to make a video tutorial showing how it is used and the great results that can come of it HERE.

Maxon Announces Cinema4D R13!

Maxon had just release a press release announcing the new Cinema4D that will be available September 2011.

Some of the highlights include Physically-Accurate Rendering, Efficient Subsurface Scattering, a bunch of new character tools and it looks like a shiny new icon and UI updates to boot.

Looks like Maxon did a huge over haul of all things rendering and character based. Also added was increased Stereoscopic workflow tools that were needed before.

ENVY CINEMA 4D TUTORIALS: C4D V-Ray Interiors – From the Ground Up

Another great Interior Lighting Tutorial from Envy. This time using V-Ray to get some great results.

“Aimed at beginner to intermediate users this course will go through the entire process of creating a highly realistic interior scene using Cinema 4D and VRay. We will model the environment, furniture and accessories and then move on to exploring materials, light and camera parameters, colour mapping, VRay’s various GI engines, its Image Sampler and antialiasing techniques, as well as IES lights, HDRI and Depth of Field. We will finish up by taking our final image into Photoshop for some post production techniques. The tutorial culminates in the exploration of other lighting methods including the creation of an alternative evening mood.” -Envy

DPIT Effex now for VRAYforC4D

Looks like Samir Kharchi over at www.dpit2.de has a new update that includes dPIT for Vray. Amazing fluid simulation plugin for Cinema4D. From Samir: “At its very core it includes a physical based fluid solver to create fire, smoke, vapor and explosion simulations. But also liquids belong to the repertoire of DPIT Effex which is the only plugin available on the Cinema 4D market that allows to generate complex water and highly viscous liquid simulations.” There is a demo available so go get your fire and water on at www.dpit2.de! Check out the demo of DPIT and VRAYforC4D on Youtube. Also check out the other goods, Plants and Rulertools.

Making sense of Vray Settings

James Shaw has posted THIS article that lays out a ton of useful Vray parameters. It is for 3D Studio Max, but all the concepts apply for VrayforC4D. “Recently Ryan Lintott and I went to a VRay training seminar by the man himself Vladimir Koylazo (one of the makers of VRay) who went through a number of facets of VRay including a step by step way of breaking down your render settings into logical steps to get the best combination of quality and speed.”
