FAQ
Questions that get asked, well… frequently.
What time will my subscription start and end?
All subscriptions start and end at 12:00 AM (Central Daylight Time). We do not currently offer partial-day subscriptions which is why we recommend booking the farm at least a day or two in advance to ensure you get your full 24hr period.
Can I upload files before my subscription starts/ends?
Once signed up you will be able to upload and manage your files through the web interface or through a 3rd party FTP software. This applies to the time before and after your subscription is active. The Renderfeed plug in is active during you subscription.
What if I need to access my files or manually manage them with more functionality than the Renderfeed Plug in? Can I upload and manager jobs through a web browser or FTP application?
Yes and yes. Once you have signed up for Renderfeed you have full access to your files on the FTP in the “Members” section of Renderfeed. With the right click menu in the FTP you have the ability to zip, unzip, upload/download and manage all your jobs on the render farm. Also in the member section, there is a fully functional render manager where job priority can be managed. Additionally you have the ability to use a 3rd party FTP program to manage your files how you would like.
When can I expect customer support with my subscription?
At Renderfeed, we always do our best to make sure your projects are working correctly and getting rendered. During our business hours, we promise to be available to answer your question. If it is after business hours (Monday-Friday 10:00am – 6:00pm PST) you can find answers on our support forum or in the Renderfeed Manual.
Can I upload multiple projects at once?
If you would like to upload multiple files, it is best done through the FTP in your members section or through a 3rd party FTP client. Simply do a “Save Project” function and upload the results to Renderfeed’s FTP through the site. To save upload time you can also zip the results, upload to the FTP and then unzip once the transfer has been completed. Additionally you have the ability to use a 3rd party FTP program to manage your files how you would like.
Will my progress be deleted if my subscription ends in the middle of a render?
Your progress will not be deleted nor will your files. Please plan ahead and calculate at least an approximate render time. This will insure that your subscription will not expire during a render.
